About

I'm fascinated with the rhythm of words and their ability to stand together as manifesto to create change.

I remember transcribing song lyrics with some frequency as a kid, typically onto the covers of my school text books.  I think I started writing my own lyrics in 2001.  I'm confident that my fascination stems from my  mother's work a speech pathologist and my father's work guiding and inspring engineering students.

My full name is Evin Gamal Prather and I'm from Cincinnati, OH.  Currently, home is Los Angeles, CA.  My day job is Chief Creative Officer for Ateliersavant, a creative agency that I co-founded that specializes in strategy and design.  I studied mechanical engineering at Florida A&M Unviersity and my MFA in industrial design is from The University of Cincinnati.

I take my stage name from Elzhi's verse on the reprise of Halftime.  "This (is) for, my real heads and paragraph addicts.  I kill your airtime, compare it to asthmatic.  It's like that.  You know it's like that ..."
